I love this! It explains why writing first thing in the morning works well for so many. During sleep the brain is often already in a semi-creative state through dreaming, so we start off closer to our end goal.

This is such a cool interpretation! I envy those who can write in the morning; I've never been an early bird 😅

Your adaptation of Nagoski’s model for creativity is such a helpful reframing. I love how gently you remind us that creativity isn’t a switch to flip, but a space we enter with care, play, and patience.

Thank you so much, Jon :) I hope it's helpful next time you sit down to create!

I've recently accepted this. Sometimes it takes longer than I want to transition between states, but I've learned to give myself grace. The transition is just as important as the self-expression.

I would rather not have to transition deliberately. I would rather humanity be prioritized in the work sector. But alas, that's another subject for a rocket scientist, I suppose.

I'm with you, there. I love "the transition is just as important as the self-expression" - I'm going to try to adopt it, as I dislike having to transition at all, too.
